CHILDREN’S HOUSING FUTURES: EXPANDING HOUSING OPTIONS TO PREVENT UNMET HOUSING NEED
 
   

AIM

The aim of this research is to improve New Zealand’s capacity to address the housing needs of children (0-16 years) now and into the future.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVES

This research is concerned with the housing futures of New Zealand’s children. It is directed to improving New Zealand’s capacity to address the housing needs of children (0-16 years) now and into the future by:

Identifying critical trends in the housing market that affect children.

Assessing the implications of those trends for current and future patterns of unmet housing need among children and their families.

Identifying options for addressing those needs through an expanded range of housing solutions.

Assessing current and future research and data requirements for robust, evidence-based policies and services that address the housing needs of children.
